Celebrate the mystery of becoming. This symbolism is empowered with the declaration of beginning a journey, fresh starts, new opportunities, and potentiality. The cavalier is equated with archetypes who are seekers of independence. Its meaning corresponds with rapid transits and timeless boundaries. The rider and the horse function as one, much like the mythological centaur with the upper body of a man and the lower body of a horse. Acting as one, they represent a self-sufficient entity and a sovereign being. Each unfolding thought holds the energy of a unique seed of re-creation, experimentation, and exploration for knowledge and innovation. In the grand cosmic scheme of encoded meanings, the first card may represent a querant, traveler, pilgrim, wayfarer, and other figures of journeyers. There is a clear sense of transitional energy for the querent to summon freedom, acceleration, increased power, choice, travel, movement, desire, and cultural prosperity. For true power in this energy, one must include compassion, caring, teaching, and loving as gifts to share with others. This initiative energy has masculine attributes related to the developing ego. It is the first tier of the ego’s mental coding which develops as intelligence, memories, and beliefs through the five senses. Feeling and perceiving makes humans uniquely self-aware like no other earthly species. By choosing the energy of this card, the querent gains insight, revelations, realizations, and epiphanies which are a small segment of the collective unconscious.

Card 1- FATHER SUN:

great spirit of the universe, origins & creation, carrier of powerful-magical words

Stones 1-8 represent creation, ancestry, cultural evolution, personification of deities, and mythological transfiguration.

Each stone of the wheel is part of the collective circle of life; the first 8 stones are at the center of the wheel as creation and relationships through story telling. (excerpt from the full manuscript available through memberships, workshops, and sessions.)

1 FATHER SUN= leadership-beginner’s mind-origins-creation: Archetypes of HORSEMAN, DRIVER, MAGICIAN, SORCERER. ZERO and ONE numerologies are the symbolic codes for universal energies, sacred and divine geometry, beginnings and endings, multi-dimensional realities, the dream world, limitless imagination, and collective consciousness. The RIDER image signifies delivery, creation, messages from divine sources, and perceptions beyond the scope of human sentience. The universal equestrian code symbolizes power, authority, and triumph. Equestrian icons often represent the sun’s predictable movement corresponding to natural cycles and life journeys.

NARRATIVE FOR STONE 1: CREATOR/FATHER SUN: The center stone signifies the great mystery of the starting point of life. Medicine Wheel Card #1 depicts an ancestral equestrian on a contemporary Palomino. The Palomino, a golden-colored horse, is associated with royalty, wealth, and noble spirit. This horse symbolism represents inner strength, vitality, spiritual merit, and perseverance. The rider is depicted as one of the earliest known horsemen from the Yamnaya tribe of Indo-European ethnicity which thrived over five-thousand years ago. The equestrian is an archetype of authority, power, and freedom. In many religious contexts, the rider may represent a deity, a great leader, or any heroic figure. The rider emerges from an illuminated disc which resembles the sun. This orb of energy corresponds to the personification of solar power as a sun deity associated with creation and the sustenance of life forms. Combined, these icons are associated with light, life, power, and a sense of cosmic order.

The circle itself resembles number zero which can represent the unknown qualities of collective unconscious. When viewed as the circle of life, the image of zero appears as a beginning point at the center of the wheel and is repeated as the outer circle, the wheel itself. Native Americans commonly call the first stone Father Sun or Great Spirit. The sun's archetypal role as a "father" can extend beyond descriptive mythology to correspond to the nurturing and generative aspects of a divine, magical, and sacred trailblazer. It can symbolize the masculine principle, a cosmic creative force, or the life-giving power of cosmic energy forces. As a foretelling code, the stone invites one to pursue the big picture, trust in unseen forces for support, and act upon incoming messages and communications which may require an immediate response.
