Medicine Wheel Resources
As a member of the Association for Tribal Archives, Libraries and Museums, I respectfully approach the symbolism of the Medicine Wheel as a spiritual healing tool with interpretations intended to demonstrate the spirit of understanding meaning through universal codes found in the ancestral practices of all cultures. In response to the interest in Native spirituality by non-Indians, Mohawk newspaper columnist Doug George encourages those with European roots to explore their own heritage. “If you look far enough back, you’ll find that the Celts and the Anglos and the Saxons and the Jutes all had similar rituals of thanksgiving based on the cycles of the moon and the growing seasons of the Earth. That’s what needs to be revived. Maybe we can use this as a kind of spiritual judo. When people come to you with a desperate need to know more, just turn that around and say the solution is within your own self. The solution is in your own community.” (Mohawk newspaper columnist Doug George)
The Medicine Wheel Oracle cards interpret universal symbolic meanings of the 36 stones of the ceremonial circle as they were practiced in multicultural indigenous shamanic healing. Explore the wisdom and guidance of these symbols and archetypal energies through our Energy Healing Sessions, Medicine Wheel Oracle Card Readings, and Spiritual Workshops. The Medicine Wheel Oracle Deck visual presentation is the collaborative artwork of Jim Henson, Executive Director and Suni Suzanne Hoffman, Executive Designer & Graphic Artist. The first eight of forty-two cards are introduced through the drop down arrow with brief descriptions.
Each stone represented in our original deck offers new codes of meaning that shape one’s own mythic narrative in dialogue with the ancient patterns encoded within the stones. Each consultation with the codes of the stones is an invitation to dance with synchronicity, to recognize the correspondences between inner impulses and outer events, and to trust in the spiral of becoming that lies at the heart of all sacred cycles. Each consecutive Medicine Wheel stone offers the journeyer an opportunity to integrate new wisdom from the next stages of growth that follow. Beginning with a central stone is the first step of creating a personal mandala of experience by following the spokes pointing not only outward to the horizons of the world, but also inward, toward the depths of personal transformation
The deck and manuscript are available by subscription or scheduled sessions and will be published soon for personal use.

Unlock the Wisdom of the Medicine Wheel
The Medicine Wheel Oracle card deck is a powerful tool that illustrates each stone of the universal medicine wheel based on indigenous tradition. Each card carries deep spiritual insights and guidance to help a querent navigate life's journey and connect with the energies of the four directions as one completes the circle of life.
There are thirty-six stones in the Medicine Wheel having forty-two potential codes for understanding their meaning. The Medicine Wheel Oracle card deck takes a shamanic approach to interpreting the codes as symbolic associations with nature, wildlife, ancestors, and spirit.
These cards represent meaningful paths to achieve a greater insight into the process of individuation throughout the growth of the mind, body, and spirit.
The Zero card depicted here is analogous to the Fool card in Tarot and leads to the Ninth stone of the Medicine Wheel which introduces the four cardinal directions as an overview of the Medicine Wheel as the complete Circle of Life from its center to its circumference:
ZERO – The ZERO Medicine Wheel stone is the touchstone of completion, culmination, and the harvest of soulful endeavors. Nine signifies the wisdom distilled from lived experience, the fruition of cycles, and the compassionate acceptance of endings that prepare the ground for future beginnings. It is the archetype of the sage or elder, the one who carries the lamp of understanding and who offers guidance gleaned from the journey thus far. This card is analogous to the Fool card in the Rider-Waite divination system and is essentially a wild card. In this reading; however, we also include the energy of the ninth stone and card which explain the codes of the cardinal directions. Soon. Members will be able to access the entire deck when it is published in a full version members only section.
In the Rider-Waite tradition, the ninth card is the Hermit, bearing a lantern to illuminate the way for others, symbolizing solitude, inner reflection, and the quiet gathering of insight before a new chapter unfolds. Within the Lenormand deck, Nine is represented by the bouquet—a sign of blessings, appreciation, and the beauty that arises from acts of kindness and gratitude. The lesson of Nine is to recognize and honor the gifts that come with closure, to integrate the lessons learned, and to share this bounty with the greater collective.
Nine’s energy encourages the querent to embrace cycles of release and renewal with grace, to see the sacredness in farewells, and to intentionally pass on wisdom and healing. The totem animal for Nine is the deer, gentle and perceptive, a symbol of peaceful passage and the soft strength found in vulnerability. Guided by the deer, the seeker is reminded to move through transitions with dignity, humility, and an openness to the mysterious gifts that accompany every ending.
This stone calls for a pause, a deep breath at the summit, where one can look back with reverence and look ahead with hope—a moment suspended in the fullness of gratitude, before the spiral of life beckons the soul onward to new horizons.
The set of cards is established as follows: 1-8 represent ancestral beginnings, heritage, the personification of unseen deities, and shamanic shape-shifting to acquire the attributes of other creatures both real and mythological; 9-12 represent the four cardinal directions with the seasons presented as their animal totems; 13-24 represent the months and personal natal animal totems based on a twelve month calendar; 25-36 represent virtues or traits which are beneficial for living compassionately and joyfully in harmony with nature; cards 0/37-0/42 represent the four elements associated with the cardinal directions as earth, wind, fire, and water.
