Our First Project

Among the first projects taken on by Studio 433 ZEN is a fundraiser for one of Jim Henson's cancer doctors who passed away unexpectedly in November 2024. The Leland Baskin Memorial Project successfully raised $5,000.00 to be awarded Our Blood Institute (OBI) where he was an Associate Director. The two plaques now hang in the New OBI library study room on the OU Medical Campus in OKC, and a duplicate is on display at the Embassy Suites by Hilton, also located on the OU Campus. 

Studio 433 ZEN Partnered with OBI, The Embassy Suites, and friends, family, and colleagues of Leland to raise a generous gift for the Oklahoma Blood Institute.

The OBI serves Oklahoma, Texas, and Arkansas with blood donors providing life-saving blood products in sixteen locations. Their only source of income is through public and corporate donations. STUDIO 433 ZEN will continue to make regular contributions to OBI and area Cancer Centers.

The image on the left, featuring a montage created by Jim Henson, will appear on the memorial plaque which will be on permanent display at the Blood Institute and at the Embassy Suites Hotel (Medical Center) that generously funded the seed money for this tax-deductible opportunity to give. We are extremely grateful to Leland's family and his wife Laura and the Embassy Suites for their contributions and assistance to make this grant a reality.
